A couple of years ago, the Municipality of Bologna decided to symbolically plant 72 new trees, 12 in each district,
to celebrate the new children born or adopted.

Also for the year 2022, each district of the city will have 12 new trees, one for each month of the calendar, in which
the boys and girls born in the various periods of the year can identify themselves.

This year, the choice has fallen on old fruit trees, mainly from the rural tradition of Bologna and the Po Valley area.
