News & Events

Life Clivut is a project funded by the LIFE programme, the EU's funding instrument for the environment and climate action. The project is developing an Urban Green Asset Strategy in order to design and implement behaviours and actions to mitigate climate change in your city and optimise the contribution of urban trees to provide ecosystem benefits.

The Portuguese partner of the project is ISG (Instituto Superior de Gestão), and it is being implemented in Cascais with the collaboration of Cascais Ambiente.
In this context and in order to involve citizens LIFE CLIVUT will distribute 1 to 3 trees to the citizens of Cascais (11-12 February).

The trees will be chosen in order of arrival among the following species:

  • Quercus rubra (American Oak)
  • Acer campestre (Common Maple)
  • Laurus nobilis (Bay Tree)
  • Salix alba (White Willow)
  • Celtis australis (European nettle tree)
  • Olea europea (Wild olive tree)

There will be also a training (16 February; from 15:30 to 17:00) on how to carry out a tree census and how to use a tree monitoring tool.
